
Marilyn Leonard
President
Marilyn Leonard has been an Evergreen resident since 1977, and she owns BeaconRidge Health Insurance Services which assists individuals, families and small businesses of 2-50 with their medical, dental, vision, life, disability and long term care insurance needs. She has two grown children, and since 2001, when her son won a scholarship to be an exchange student for a year in Germany, she has hosted foreign exchange students from many different countries. She is also active in her professional organization, the National Association of Health Underwriters, serving as President of the local San Jose chapter twice and is now serving as the Region 8 Chair of Education for California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Alaska and Hawaii. She joined EBPA in February of 2008, and in addition to being on the Board this year, she is active in the Leads and Referral Group and is on the Scholarship Committee.

Eric Ostgarden
Vice President
Eric Ostgarden has been in banking and finance for over 10 years and is currently Vice President & Branch Manager of the Bank of the West location at the corners of McKee and White Roads. Eric has lived in Evergreen for 7 years and has spent his entire life in San Jose, having graduated from San Jose State with a bachelor in business management. Eric has a passion for helping individuals and businesses reach their full potential and thrive in today’s economy. When not at the office, Eric enjoys spending time with friends, family and loved ones, which includes a rambunctious 3 year old beagle. Edwina DiSilvestre
Secretary
Edwina obtained a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Administration and worked 8 years in the service industry before settling down to have a family. She moved to San Jose in 1989 and relocated to the Evergreen area in 1997. Since that time she has devoted her energies to raising a family and being a part of the Evergreen community. She participates in groups such as Las Madres, the PTA, the EBPA, and the SJ/SV Chamber of Commerce. She has seen the demographics of Silicon Valley change and grow and feels that the personal assistance that 28 in 24 provides is responding to the area’s changing needs. The focus of her business is exceeding the customer service expectations of her clients.

Charles Brown

Charles Ray Brown has been in the financial industry since 2005 and is currently the Financial Advisor of the Edward Jones Investments office on South White Road in San Jose. Charles moved to California in 1999 and graduated from Simpson University in Redding CA. Since then, he resides in San Jose and serves the Evergreen community. Charles enjoys his job for many reasons, above all is the fact that he has the opportunity to help people reach their financial goals and needs. Carla Evans
Past President
Carla Evans has managed Plaza Dental Group since 1986. She has lived in the Evergreen Community for over 15 years, and has been a member of EBPA for several years. Prior to dental management, Carla was Vice President and customer service manager in the computer industry and managed several distribution centers in her earlier years. She is also actively serving the community in the San Jose East Valley Lions. She is married to Bill Evans, lives in The Villages, and enjoys playing piano, kneedlework, sewing and community service.

Dr. Cryer is a well published author, and a speech, journalistic, political, ad-copy and ghost writer. His publication list includes well over 100 items. Katie Nguyen chooses Evergreen as a place to raise her family. She sees that Evergreen community has much potential for growth as it is expanding fast with young families like hers. Nice parks, good schools with young, diverse and dynamic family structures are great characteristics of Evergreen. As a board member of EBPA, Katie has much enthusiasm in reaching out to the community in every way in the continued effort of building and strenghthen the community as a safe and a great place for the children to grow.

Marie (“Ree”) Ortiz

Marie (“Ree”) Ortiz has been a resident of San Jose and the Evergreen community for over 20 years, and is a native Californian. A certified instructor in the SuperSlow technique, she is the co-owner and president of the first SuperSlow Zone (www.sszsilvercreek.com) within Santa Clara County. Marie is a seasoned veteran of startup & technology firms including E*Trade, McAfee, ZANTAZ & Charles Schwab, with a strong background in operations, M&A, service, and product design (amongst other things), who joined the entrepreneur sector to drive growth in the exciting (and needed!) fitness industry. Marie and her husband have three sons (two now in college) and a pair of mini toy poodles that keep them very busy.
